Verify and revise—or suggest revising—facts that are incorrect. I will correct any POV shifts, as well as help reword or suggest rewriting any context or flow issues. 

Correct all indisputable errors in grammar, syntax, usage, and verb tense shifts. Rewrite or suggest rewording of passive, wordy, or confusing sentences. Point out any repetition or redundancy within your manuscript. I will also ask for clarification of terms likely to be new to readers.

I will check character development, pacing, structure, theme, story arcs, and overall effectiveness of your story. ​This usually requires two editorial passes. Manuscript Critique Included.

Cost: $0.03 US per word. So, a 50k manuscript would be $1,500 US.

Copyedit: If your manuscript has already been through a developmental or content edit, then a copyedit would be your next step. Basically, you get everything listed above, except now my focus is on the more minute details and not the content of your story. I will go over each sentence to make sure your book is ready for publication. Each line will be checked for flow, pacing, sentence structure, repetition, consistency, redundancy, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and word usage. Sometimes a second pass is necessary. Manuscript Critique Included.

Cost: $0.02 US per word. So, a 50k manuscript would be $1000 US.

​​Proofread: Choose a proofread when all you need is that second set of eyes. After your edits and copyedits are complete, I will check for any lingering formatting, grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. I'll also point out any inconsistencies in style or plot. Let's make your book as near perfect as possible.

Cost: $0.01 US per word. So, a 50k manuscript would be $500 US.

                                  Note on Payments

I base my fee on word counts when I initially receive your manuscript. I ask for a 50 percent, nonrefundable deposit at the time of contract signing and before I start your project. Any remaining balance is due when the manuscript is finished and before it's returned to you.

For projects less than $200, full payment is required upfront.

PayPal and (cleared) personal checks are accepted.
